Kelly is fighting for a secure border. In the wake of the Biden Border Crisis, he was named the new Chairman of the Texas Senate Veteran Affairs & Border Security Committee in June of 2021 and immediately got to work on Texas’ plan to step up where the federal government has abandoned its duty:
- Texas is building our own wall — and demanding that D.C. return Texas border land.
- Texas is putting criminal trespassers and human traffickers behind bars.
- Texas is investing nearly $3 billion into border security, including support for our troops and troopers working on Operation Lone Star.
Kelly also understands the importance of removing illegal immigration incentives and coauthored Texas’ ban on sanctuary cities.
