Meet Kelly
Kelly, a Fort Worth native, local businessman, and dedicated family man, has served in the Texas Senate since 2013. He previously served three terms in the Texas House of Representatives. Throughout his time in the Texas Legislature, Kelly has shown strong leadership advocating for the core conservative principles of limited government, lower taxes, and traditional family values.
Born at All Saints Hospital, Kelly has lived his whole life in Fort Worth and the Mid-Cities area. It is here that he learned the values of integrity, hard work, and most importantly, faith.
In April of 2004, Kelly and his brother formed their family-founded company. Over the years, they have watched it grow to become one of the most respected companies in the Metroplex, earning the designation “Small Business of the Year” from the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce.
As a business owner, Kelly has witnessed first-hand how onerous regulations can negatively affect local businesses and our economy. Kelly is a hard-working businessman who will continue to do what it takes to reduce our unemployment rate and keep Texans working. He has extensive experience in the public and private sector alike and understands what it takes to keep the Texas economy on an upward trajectory.
Kelly has established a reputation as a legislative leader who can be counted on to support a balanced state budget, lower taxes, and greater individual freedoms. He has been recognized as a “Courageous Conservative,” a “Champion of Small Business” and a “Lone Star Conservative Leader.”
Governor Greg Abbott calls Kelly “the go-to man in the Texas Senate.”
Kelly and his wife, Robin, are both graduates of Richland High School and Baylor University. They have been happily married for 35 years and have three children – Chloe (Greg), Skylar (Aaron), and Harrison (Parker) – and welcomed their first grandchild in the fall of 2018 and two more in 2021! Shortly after Chloe was born, Kelly began his commitment to public service and making Texas even better for future generations by serving 13 years on the Birdville ISD School Board.
With Kelly as our state senator, North Texans can rest easy knowing the conservative values we hold dear will be protected and defended in the Texas Legislature.
